About This Game Terroir is a 3D tile-based tycoon game where you manage your very own vineyard. In Terroir, you grow a variety of different grape varietals, craft your wine, and expand and manage your Estate. Money after selling wine works but with a slight delay. Don't expect to suddenly cash in with your B grade wine. The music and atmosphere of the game is a marvel. I would appreciate more content such as events to add more flavour. Some luck is involved with weather and you can see your wine yards (money) evaporate because of too much sun or rain. If you are big, you can afford to have a poor harvest. But it is tough at the beginning when your money drains by the month. Luckily I got funded by the Major and was able to expand. A game that I would like to see more of.. A mild, yet distinct little game. The perfect complement to a light dinner and a walk home.I think the game could benefit from a catalogue of wines so you can see how your wines performed previously and then improve on that. It's not much different to write it down outside of the game, so why not have it as a feature?. Awesome game for any wine/tycoon enthusiast. My only regret is to have bought this game too late, and not supporting their early access.May look simplistic, but it is quite complex and with different formulas to how wines develop.You may feel overwhelmed at start, and not understanding how everything works, so after doing the basic tutorial, make sure to read all the tabs in the tutorial page (the book icon at the top centre of the screen).. Good game already. Simple, but with some interesting nuance. Interested to see whats in the future for this game.. As a wine enthusiast I was really thrilled to explore this game. Played the Demo for hours and decided to buy the game eventually but returned it before I passed the 2hrs mark. Main issue for me is the very basic game engine. You can't handle the different grape varieties really independent from each other over most parts of the manufacturing process. If one step for one variety takes 2 month whereas the other variety only need 2 weeks you have to wait the whole 2 month before you can continue with both of them. That is somewhat ridiculous especially if you have to harvest all varieties at the same time. Eventhough it's just a simplified video game of course that is just a tad to unrealistic. Same applies for the fact that you can't plant more than 3 different grape varieties. There was a German game back in the early 90s called Winzer and that was in parts already more complex than this one as you had manage the acquisition of workers, barrels, bottles and harvest machines for example yourself from the beginning. You could also export your wine to several countries or produce sparkling wine and champagne. Another suggestions would be the introduction of wine faires or the producton of cuvées. With these points in mind I think the game has much more potential. The developers have been very enthusiastic in the beginning. Hope they put more efforts in this game as the output might become considerable more satisfying. That's said the game concept itself is really good. Will happily change this review to a recommendation if we see some further good development.. Events and finances are bugged, still may as well be EA
